Now, lets take a look at these polls and see what the numbers might indicate about tonight's elimination.
Firstly, I think we should look at who most of us are saying we want to be the first to be sent packing. It's kinda obvious by Sanjaya Malakar has to be one of the most loved and yet most hated contestants Idol has had. Those locks of hair are swooned over by many a teenage girl but when it comes to his voice, he's undoubtedly the first one we want to see go.
The Idolblog.com polls have Sanjaya as the most preferred to be sent home with a staggering 69% of the vote while the closest other contestant, and the only one to make double digits, is Brandon Rogers on 11%. Brandon's inability to remember his words and his cracking voice would have played a part in earning him that spot.
Although it's incredibly unlikely that Sanjaya will go home - cause those people at VFTW who have such incredible power to get Antonella Barba into the Top 12 - oh that's right! But I digress... Sanjaya will be safe because his fanbase live on their mobile phones.
When it comes to the favourite contestants, Melinda Doolittle continues to dominate with a resounding 38% of the vote at this stage of the competition.
Lakisha Jones takes second spot with 21% of the vote while Jordin Sparks skyrockets into third place with 16%. Blake Lewis came in fourth and the highest popularity of the guys with 8% of the vote.
As far as the bottom three goes, polling third lowest was Stephanie Edwards on 2%. In second lowest place was Phil Stacey on 1% but the person with the lowest number of votes in our poll was Brandon Rogers who barely managed 1%.
DialIdol's bottom three is quite different in contrast. The third lowest place was Blake Lewis with 6.056%. Second lowest was Chris Sligh on 5.932% and lastly at the bottom was Stephanie Edwards on 5.91%.
So who is going home tonight? Stick around and find out. The results are just around the corner.

Yet to be decided:
Who keeps voting for Sunjaya? He freaking sucks so bad, I want to puke every time I hear him open his mouth. Better yet when I look at his face, is he gay?
why don't you guys tell the contestants and Simon Cowell what you really think at:
www.digitalreview.net
um.. because they can do that here?
not as well
ex fan, speaking of sanjaya - my brother in law started this site - ha! Beat Sanjaya- how funny. And yeah, he is terrible.
I think one of the big problems from this week's show was the choice of songs. They were all terrible (they went from cheesily obvious to bizarrely obscure) and then the contestants chose to sing them badly.
Brandon was the right one to go home though regardless of how bad Sanjaya was...
The comment I'd like to make is that although Melinda and Lakisha can both sing equally well Melinda always looks stiff in her dresses whereas Lakisha can wear a stiff dress (that sleeveless black number she wore with the collar) and still look very relaxed and comfortable in it.
Whether people feel sorry for him or not, Sanjaya is way over due to be sent home. If he were to come out with a cd now, would you buy it? If you wouldn't buy his cd, then why vote for him??? If you would buy his cd, you just have way too much money to spend. He needs to get voted off....for the love of quality music!!!!
I think the voting audience enjoys the back lashing the judges keep on giving Sanjaya night after night and the irony of him getting through every night. You must admit it makes it a tad bit more bearable to watch since the talent doesn’t seem to measure up this year to the previous years. For any Idol fans out there I came across some interesting stuff. I heard Pringles is offering an opportunity to win two tickets to the Finals. All you have to do is upload your very own video for Jingles for Pringles on http://www.jinglesforpringles.com/?market=1. I know this coz I work with Pringles.
I'm having a hard finding anyone that can even compete with last years top twelve. A bit of a streatch, but I am not going to watch the next seven or eight extractions. The network either needs to change the format of the show or take it off the air. The show is boring...
Phil can sing, but my wife and I have tried to figure it out for weeks. Who does Phil look like. We finally placed him--Didn't he play Dobby the house elf in the Harry Potter movies?
Phil definitely looks like Riff Raff from the Rocky Horror Picture Show.
Put those eyes away!
Either way, Phil has a look that makes him famous!!!
If the judges were smart, they wouldn't bash Sanjaya so much. I think most people that vote for the guy are sorry for him and feel that the judges were too hard on him. They should just say nice things...(if they could find any)...and the back lash wouldn't be happening week after week.
i think you are right people are only voting for him because they feel sorry 'cause like come on sundance should not have left!he was much better then Sanjaya. The judges should try to find something good to say about this guy even though you cant even hear his performance because he is so monotone and has no emotion.
Obviously the voters do not take the shows purpose seriously. They continue to vote for Sanjaya making him look like a bigger fool every week, not to mention torturing those of us that like to listen to the show. Let me know when he is finally voted off in the mean time I think that I will stop listening and look forward to "Canadian Idol".
