It's Grand Ole Opry night on American Idol aka Country night. Our Idols are being coached by Randy Travis
this week.
Let's get into the show!

Michael Sarver
Song Choice:Voting Numbers
I thought that suited Michael really well.
Randy: That showed a fun side of you and bought out some good stuff for your vocals.
Kara: It was impressive that you managed to remember all those words.
Paula: That allowed us to see you having fun which meant we had fun. The harmonica player boosted your charm.
Simon: I couldn't understand a single word you sung. I thought it was a bit clumsy. On a scale of 1-10 I'd give it a 1.2.
Allison Iraheta
Song Choice:Voting Numbers
I thought that was really good and again, suited her really well.
Randy: I didn't think it was precocious. I thought it was dope!
Kara: Who knew you could sing the alphabet. Every week you're getting better and better.
Paula: Another rock solid performance.
Simon: I thought it was good but it looked like you were struggling in parts.
Kris Allen
Song Choice:Voting Numbers
I really like this performance by Kris.
Randy: I was like wow about the tender moments
Kara:
Paula: That was really nice and vulnerable. Overall I think it was a really smart choice to do this without your guitar.
Simon: I thought that was terrific. You were completely in control of the song and that was the first time I've thought you have a really good chance at doing well in this competition.
Lil Rounds
Song Choice:Voting Numbers
It was ok but nothing to write home about for me.
Randy: it was a very ambitious song choice.
Kara: I give you props for standing your ground.
Paula: It would have worked better if you had only done one verse.
Simon: That felt forced and uncomfortable.
Adam Lambert
Song Choice:Voting Numbers
What a star. This guy is so up for being original.
Randy: If you can imagine Nine Inch Nails doing a country song, that was it. HAWT!
Kara:
Paula: You're raising the bar each week and we're going to keep expecting great things out of you.
Simon: There are a lot of people throwing their TV sets out of the window and thought it was self indulgent rubbish.
Scott MacIntyre
Song Choice:Voting Numbers
I didn't really like that too much at all.
Randy: I'm looking for those hot vocals and I haven't seen that from you yet.
Kara: We want you to up your game and wow us but you bring class and poise to the American Idol stage.
Paula: The piano might be a bit of a crutch for you at the moment. I want you to mix it up so there is a connection.
Simon: I don't think you're picking good enough songs yet and I'm forgetting you afterwards.
Alexis Grace
Song Choice:Voting Numbers
I actually like version more than most idol performances of this song.
Randy: There was a bunch of pitch problems in there. It was a good song choice but it just didn't quite work for me.
Kara: I think you lost your edge a bit. I was missing the angst in you and it felt a little flat.
Paula: You took an artistic approach and I really enjoyed the vulnerable soft side of you.
Simon: I though it was ok and a little bit sound-alike. I didn't hear much originality and I don't think we'll remember that afterwards.
Danny Gokey
Song Choice:Voting Numbers
No surprise that Danny chose this song, really. It was ok but I really don't get what the major attraction with Danny is.
Randy: The problem with you and the verses is that you need to support them as much as you do the choruses.
Kara: When you hit your stride it's like no other. I wish I'd had ten minutes of that minus the front half.
Paula: I think you were brilliant tonight. So much so that I think Carrie Underwood wouldn't just approve, I think she'd buy the record.
Simon: My only problem is with what you're wearing.
Anoop Desai
Song Choice:Voting Numbers
Well. This is a pleasant surprise. That was actually pretty good.
Randy: That proved why we wanted you on the show. You really showed your vocal skills and I really liked the arrangement.
Kara: That was the biggest surprize of the night for me.
Paula: The glove really fit this week.
Simon: You've just managed to go from zero to hero. That was a good choice of song and one of my favorite performances of the night and I take back what I said last week. You deserve to be on American Idol.
Megan Corkery
Song Choice:Voting Numbers
I really like the old sound in Megan's voice but she's going to have to watch those pitch problem.
Randy: I was quite impressed and thought that was pretty good. Perfect choice for you.
Kara: Perfect song. Perfect look. Most people couldn't get up and do that while they're sick.
Paula: You're a fighter. If that's what sick is being about...
Simon: You should have flu every week. You look gorgeous.
Matt Giraud
Song Choice:Voting Numbers
I quite liked that performance. It's been a good show.
Randy: For me, it was my favorite performance of the night. You've got it going on!
Kara: There ain't nothing small about you. You're an artist and a real talent. You worked the dynamics of that song. Amazing.
Paula: You're an authentic performer and your honesty shines through your performance.
Simon: You're quite similar to Danny but tonight you out sang him. One of the best tonight.

Without a doubt, this was
Without a doubt, this was the worse AI Show I have ever had to try and sit through. While Country and Western music is ghastly to me, taking a song and making it your own was only accomplished by Anoop who did ok. The rest of them needs to avoid Randy Travis forever.
What the audience does not realize is that the top 4 are already decided upon. Fremantle owns the voter tabulation firm so your votes, while giving them a good idea of audience reactions, have nothing to do with the marketablity factor that is driving the finalists to become winners.
Face it folks, we have all been swept into believing we can make a difference if we call. Bunk. Ratings make the diffrence and while some may trulybeleive this is a talent show, it is a ratings show period and they are winning!
so many people hatin' on
so many people hatin' on Megan. Really, pitch problems. I know that with all the mainstream music out there today this seems way out in left field, but has anyone ever heard of Duffy, Corinne Bailey Rae, or Stevie Nicks. This girl has a unique voice that is a breath of fresh air when it comes to all the similar sounding singers this world has to offer us. Perhaps it all comes down to jealousy for some, which wouldn't surprise me, given her gorgeous looks. Anything to make some feel better about themselves.
Did Megan Corkery puke
Did Megan Corkery puke onstage during Ryan's closing remarks?
ok, I think Paula made an
ok, I think Paula made an idiot of herself, and I think Simon was spot on. What the hell do you expect the poor blind kid to do? He cant see the audience to connect with them, which is one of the girls favorite items of feedback.... He has to be careful not to fall off the stage.
